What makes you think your problem is the MAF sensor? You tried cleaning it I assume? I turned the car on and checked the voltage for the 3 connectors where it plugs into the MAF. Put the red one into the connector and touched the black to the car body. Pin 1 (closest to the driver) showed ~50mV. Pin 2 showed ~45mV. Pin 3 showed ~14V.
2004 bmw 330i. My 2004 bmw 330i currently has the following code: 2783 Hot-Film Air-Mass Flow Sensor and also has transmission warning light on. the car jerks when slowing down around 2k rpm. It is currently at a mechanic shop. The mechanic found various vacuum leaks coming from upper and lower intake boots so those were replaced as well as the
HOW TO KNOW IF MAF SENSOR IS BAD. MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR TEST Scanner Used in the video:
The airflow inside the tube is fastest in the center, slowest on the sides. The screens slow down the air flow velocity throughout the pipe, which makes the center/side difference less of a difference. Since the MAF sensor isn't measured at different points in the pipe, this gives a more accurate measurement for total CFM.
- When that happens a air gushes back into the intake as the engine rpm drops and the sc also decreases revving, the air is likely rushing past the maf cooling it down or making it think there is more air passing through when there isn't and the injector duty cycle has ended or slowed down, basically hitting the maf as the bov/bpv opens and sc
What you really need to do is forget about the shop, they often blame problems on the MAF and the majority of the time the MAF is the last item that should be condemned. You need your own OBDII scan tool that support Freeze Frame and Live/Realtime data and Logging is also helpful.
The most common signs of bad mass air flow sensor (MAF) in BMW X3 are loss of power or slow acceleration, engine hesitation or jerking during acceleration, erratic idling, misfires, poor exhaust emission values and sometimes black smoke comes out of the tailpipe. The mass air flow sensor is part of the engine’s intake system and is located

Replacement: mass air flow sensor – BMW E46 Touring. AUTODOC experts recommend: Сlear the trouble codes from the electronic control unit if necessary. Make sure that no dust or dirt gets into the air duct components and the throttle body. Please note: all work on the car – BMW E46 Touring – should be done with the engine switched off.

problem could be one of many start by pluging ur vehiicule to ur DIS it will most definately read bank 1 and bank 2 those are comon codes that apear when ur vehicule isnt run right those r ur o2 sensors second wat comonly is a problem is ur mass air flow sensor wat u can do is unplug it and c how the car rides if it rides fine u know thats ur problembut dont ride without ur mass air flow for
