Fewdays back the PC started playing up so decided to reinstall windows 10. After fresh Win 10 install the system couldn't recognise the HDD Next reboot nothing on screen, I can hear the fans the power button lights up but nothing on screen - absolutely nothing. Already tried the following: 1. Reboot. 2. Reseat HDD, RAM, checked other connections. Tosummarize: 1- Download the bios file on the acer support website. 2- If it's necessary (Windows version), extract the self-extratible file (*.exe) contained in the zip. file with 7-zip. 3- Format an USB flash drive to FAT or FAT32. 4- Copy all files on this one (contained in the Dos or Windows (#2) folder) Goto the BIOS Main tab and make sure that the F12 and D2D options are set to enabled. Then save and exit the BIOS menu settings. If you still get the black screen, then press and hold the power button till the machine completely shuts off. Idoubt if flashing the bios will help. true bios corruption is rare and I think people confuse bios corruption with resetting the bios to default settings. As soon as I turn the laptop on it goes straight to automatic repair but then goes straight to a black screen and nothing else happens it just stays on the black screen.
